About

I am currently a Research Scientist at NIST in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Before that, I was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Associate at NIST. I earned my PhD in Philosophy (in 2019) from DePaul University. In 2017-2018, I received a Fulbright Student Researcher Grant, based in the Math Department at the National University of Colombia in Bogotá, where I worked with Fernando Zalamea (my dissertation co-director). Before my PhD, I studied philosophy at Oxford University and University of San Diego.

My main research interests are in applied category theory. In Sheaf Theory Through Examples, I tried to focus on unexpected applications of sheaves and category theory, and I continue to spend most of my effort applying category theory to a wide variety of areas and classes of problems.
